Welcome to the Church!
Shatin Church is an international, English-speaking Anglican church grounded in God’s Word and enjoying contemporary worship. We are a daughter church of St. Andrew’s Church, Kowloon and have been serving English speaking communities in Shatin for over twenty years.
We have vibrant children’s programs (Kingdom Kids and Revelation Warriors) that meet on Sunday mornings. Youth group (Solid Rock) meets on Saturdays, and there’s a number of small groups, a 20s & 30s group and a Filipino fellowship as well. Everyone is welcome to come along, and we always look forward to meeting new people. Do stay for a coffee or tea after the service if you can. We would love to get to know you better.
Sunday Service: 9:30am and 11:30am at Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School. (Crèche is provided during both services)
Small Groups: throughout the week in different locations.

Heewoo D. Han
After receiving his B.A. in Bible/Theology from Wheaton College (IL), Heewoo went to Honduras as a missionary. Although he loved the sun and the people, he came back to complete his M.Div. at Yale Divinity School. He then headed to England to work at All Souls Church, Langham Place before joining Shatin Anglican Church.
He loves playing tennis and going on beautiful walks around Hong Kong countryside when it’s not too hot, but his passion lies in studying and preaching the word of God and seeing people grow in Him.
Director of Discipleship
Niels van de Kasteele
Niels arrived in Hong Kong in July 2016. He is originally from the Netherlands (hence the
difficult surname) and moved to the UK in 2002, shortly after becoming a Christian.
In London he worked for London Underground, but as he got more and more involved in church decided to train for ministry, through doing an apprenticeship and an M.Th. at Oak Hill College. Before coming to Shatin he served at City Evangelical Church in Leeds, UK. He loves to see people studying the Bible together so that they grow in maturity and reach out to others.
Niels is married to Eun-Jung from South Korea. They met while hiking which is still something they love to do, though their three young daughters tend to make this infrequent.
Youth and Outreach Worker
Rhys grew up and studied in Wales, UK where he learnt to speak fluent Welsh and English from a young age.
He started work as a lifeguard in the leisure industry before going to London City Mission for a year to see what inner city mission was like. Rhys then went to try overseas mission in Zambia, Africa where he studied at Bible college and worked with different aid projects.
On returning to the UK Rhys did ministry training at his church in Wales and then trained as a Youth Worker at All Souls, Langham Place. For the last two years he has been working again with London City Mission, reaching the marginalized with the gospel whilst studying Urban Mission.
Rhys likes swimming, rugby, supporting Liverpool Football Club, making and eating bread and trying to play the guitar.
Keturah grew up in Yorkshire in the North of England and said she would never move to a big city. However before moving to Hong Kong she spent eight years in London studying art, working for an NGO and then training as a children’s worker at All Souls Langham Place. After training Keturah worked with a small church in a poor London district coordinating their children and families program whilst studying Urban Mission at London City Mission. She has also been involved with children’s ministry on short term mission trips to Paraguay, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Keturah loves the creative challenge of teaching God’s word to children and seeing even the smallest learning big truths about God, wherever that means she has to move. She also enjoys painting, swimming, pancakes and exploring with Rhys.
Pauline is a print designer by training, and joined an advertising agency shortly after graduating from design school. However after 3 years of promoting stuff which she wouldn’t have bought for herself, she left the industry but continued to work as a freelance designer from home, which enabled her to take care of the household and her 2 daughters who came along soon after. Although she has been serving in church for over 20 years in various ministries, joining the church as staff has always been wishful thinking, so she is thankful for this opportunity to receive formal study and training in her new role as Ministry Associate.
Pauline is from the sunny island of Singapore.
