Lent Resources

Lenten Resources

Lent marks the forty days leading up to Easter, mirroring the forty days Jesus spent in the wilderness.  It is a practice that began in the 4th century as a way to prepare Christians for the holiest day of the year, Easter.

Many people practice Lent by giving something up like alcohol, meat, chocolate, or social media.  Some choose to take up a spiritual discipline like daily prayer, reading, or journaling. We do these to flee from sins, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness (1 Timothy 6:11), but also to behold the mercy and glory of Christ in this season.

We invite you to join us in participating in this holy tradition.
